The Association was formed for the purpose of training suitable dogs to assist people with physical disabilities to achieve a greater independence. Our Assistance dogs are matched with each recipient based on what is appropriate for the recipient’s needs and applicants may be required to wait for a dog best suited to their needs. This ensures the right dog is matched with the right recipient for long-term success of the partnership.
Assistance Dogs NQ Inc (ASDOGS NQ Inc.) is run by a volunteer Management Committee and includes the Executive office bearers of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. We currently have several dog trainers who work in both a paid and volunteer capacity.
Assistance Dogs NQ Inc (ASDOGS NQ Inc.) would not exist or function without the generosity of time and effort provided by our volunteers.
All training is conducted by qualified and accredited dog trainers. Assistance Dogs NQ Inc (ASDOGS NQ Inc.) uses positive dog training methods based on the best science of how dogs learn.
We continue to stay up to date and regularly attend training courses, workshops, and seminars to continue to improve our methods to train Assistance dogs.
